This steeper bottle is beautiful and practical. The sleek double walled glass lends an air of elegance to your on-the-go tea, while the flippable brewing design allows you to take your loose leaf set up mobile.

Size: Makes a 6oz cup of tea

Materials: Double-walled glass

How to Use: Unscrew the top steeping chamber, pop out the mesh strainer, and add your loose leaf tea. Fill the bottom chamber with hot water, replace the mesh straining barrier on the top chamber, and screw the two halves back together. Flip the bottle upside down to steep, then flip right side up and allow the tea to drain back into the main chamber to drink.

Care Instructions: Disassemble the steeping bottle and hand wash each section in warm, soapy water. Make sure to wash thoroughly after each use to avoid bacteria buildup. Hand wash only. Do not microwave.

    Pros and cons

    This is a nifty way to brew loose leaf tea. There are pros and cons.

    Pros:

    The tea is delicious

    The container is attractive and the insulation works well.

    Cons:

    1. It comes with no instructions. Do you put the tea in the little part and pour water over it, connect the cup, then flip to strain? Or do you put the hot water in the cup part, screw the loaded-with-tea small part on top and then flip to brew? Also there are two sides to the strainer attachment, on one side the filter is flat to the seal, on the other there is a 1 cm drop from filer to seal, which side faces which half of the strainer?

    2. It is still a pita more work than a tea bag (John is correct, sorry Hank) and it makes a laughably minuscule amount of tea. Too much weird effort for four mouthfuls of tea. If I’m going to go through this rigmarole at least give me 12 oz of tea.

    3. The tea get stuck in the top with certain blends. Like the ones made of actual tea. (See pic) and the strainer half gets very hot. You have to kind of loosen it to get the tea to strain which always leaves you open to a mess.

    4. Tea leaves in your tea. Teabags are better. (See pic)

    5. Kind of a pain to clean.

    6. I ended up with about half a cup of tea and the rest spilled all over. I had to open the top and stir the leaves to get any more in the cup. End result, chewy tea. .

    8/10 design (too small)

    2/10 usefulness for actual black tea.

    New favourite infuser

    This infuser is PERFECT for making gong fu cha. I top off one side with hot water, swirl it around for 30 seconds, then flip to drink.

    Doesn't block leaves

    It has a good construction and doesn't leak. The chamber with the double walled glass is well insulated and just warm to the touch even with boiling water. The logo and aesthetic design of the bottle are top notch.

    However the holes in the strainer are just too large and letting too many leaves through into the drinking chamber. It's a lot worse with the chai, but even with the larger leaves it lets too much through.

    Not great for all teas

    Great quality but doesn't filter out fine grains very well. The photos I'm including are from the Evensong Chai, I do not recommend using this with that tea. I also got the April Meadows Green and Golden Fire Ginger, it worked well with those ones (I also tried using just the tea leaves at the bottom of the bags. It worked less well then but still was not nearly as bad as the chai) I still like the product! Just be aware when choosing teas to use it with

    Neat product, but it needs improvement

    In general, this works well. There are two areas, however, where it needs to be improved.

    1) Embiggenment. This produces about half as much tea as it should. Double the size.

    2) Finer strainer. The strainer should be made of a much finer mesh in order to prevent leaves and bits from entering the main chamber once you flip it.
